On January 5, 2019, as the author of the short poem "Looking Back at Youth, Paying Tribute to the Golden Years" by North American Wenyuan, I had the honor to enjoy the 3rd Maple Snow Le Montreal Nostalgic Classic Spring Festival. The exquisite audio-visual feast immerses the audience in In beautiful and innocent memories. The biggest feature of this year is to look back affectionately on youth and supreme golden songs. The party focuses on showing the feelings of the past, paying tribute to the golden years, and reliving the classic memories!
In the quietly flowing time, perhaps only memories are the best summary of the past. In the years of youth, the most touching thing is what you really feel. The bits and pieces of January 5, 2019, like the ups and downs of the past, are intertwined into an eternal freeze frame in my mind, and those fantasies and longings seem to be ruthlessly crushed in real life. Youth, exudes a touch of fragrance. There are unforgettable chapters in youth, and there are also chapters that cannot be looked back.
That night, the famous Montreal soprano Dong Lirong sang affectionately the theme song "Maple Flower Snow Music" written by Meng Cun Lao Guo, the chief planner of the party, which brought the audience into the historical memory and modern development of Montreal. The audience explained. Before you know it, the past is like a song, the years are like smoke, and the time is quiet. Inadvertently, we lament the passing years, the memory is either dusty and frozen forever; or it turns into a butterfly and dances with the wind, youth will eventually pass away, but memory is the best summary. On the road of our youth, we will encounter many choices. Due to objective conditions, we will give up our original ideas and make choices, but we are responsible for our own choices. Going through youth and looking back on the future, no matter what kind of experience we have, it is worth remembering. The melodious and affectionate singing evoked our homesickness, and I remembered a sentence many years ago, "Hometown is for nostalgia, youth is for memory."
The song "Meditation" by violinist Xu Zhi made the venue extraordinarily quiet and aroused the audience's deep thinking. The years like water, the wonderful life, every day is spent in a busy way. One day, you inadvertently looked up and found that the small tree in front of your house had sprouted, and you suddenly knew that spring had come. The footsteps of the years just slipped away inadvertently, everything is so sudden. As the flowers bloom and fall, the old man of time exhorts everyone in the world with silent words. A person's life is like a marathon. If you understand the rules of this race and use scientific methods, the key is to adjust your mentality, then you will easily and easily run to the finish line. On the contrary, if you don't understand the rules of the game, and you are doing your own challenge in a daze, you will definitely fail and leave with regret in the end. Everyone wants to be a marathoner who smiles to the finish line.
Several guzheng, dulcimer and pipa performers performed the poems "Quiet Night Thoughts" and "Shui Tiaogetou. When will the moon be?" It is true that the years have passed, but at this moment I think of Tao Yuanming, envy his life in seclusion in the garden, and feel his life, why not let him go and stay? Hu Wei didn't want to do anything, in the end, Liaocheng was destroyed, and Lefu's destiny was again doubted.
Seven groups of short poems written by seven literature lovers, including me, constitute "Looking Back at Youth, Tribute to the Golden Years". Several readers of the Wenyuan Qingfeng Reading Club recited affectionately, explaining that youth will always pass away, Everyone is looking for their own dreams in the dream of youth, and everyone is interpreting youth in their own unique way.
The last and most exciting part is the beautiful singing of coloratura soprano Han Ying, which brought the party to a climax, showing French, Italian and Chinese songs to the audience, and bringing excerpts from classic operas and musicals , and also interacted with the audience and sang popular golden songs that everyone is familiar with. She dedicated the sounds of nature to the Montreal audience, which was pleasing to the eye and full of emotions.
Time flies and the years go by, but our thoughts can slow down, talk to the fleeting time, and find the peace in our hearts. The "Maple Flower Snow Music" party uses heart-touching old songs and golden songs, which make people move when they listen to them and cry when they sing. The classic melodies arouse our enthusiasm and open up a precious memory of us. a strong resonance. The red sun rises, a new day begins under the reflection of the morning glow, and the sun sets in the west, and the days disperse in the afterglow of the setting sun. Youth is gone, only remembrance, sometimes as long as you are brave once, you will have youth without regret.
About the author
Jin Jing, an associate professor in a university, a graduate student majoring in modern Chinese history, a master of law, immigrated to Canada in 2015, and is now a member of the North American Literature Academy.
